Canoe Family Program Management Training

Tribal youth programs have an array of techniques for nurturing success and growth. Though programs that start from 3am and continue through 12am each day come with an array of responsibilities around leadership, safety measures, supply management, development, support, encouragement, and culture among many others.

We have coordinated 15 canoe journeys and families since 2010 along with other youth and culture programs around Rites of Passage, Foster Families, Sunday Gatherings, Outward Bound, Outdoor Education, Youth Conferences, and Rally’s to name a few.

Tribal Canoe Journey happens every year for First Nations and Tribes throughout the Pacific Northwest. Let us help you circle your group, plan ahead, recruit your members, and grow your community.

Ichishkín Language

An example of finding great material, but without proper pronunciation and understanding of the orthography and conjugations one will overlook the misspellings, context, indirect translations, and essence of the messages within.

We provide insight into Ichishkín Language of the Columbia River Plateau. For 10 years, we have worked with 1st Language Ichishkín Speakers from Yakama, Warm Springs, and Umatilla Tribes, most have sadly since past. We first invite you to respectfully reach those who are still with us to first develop friendships, relationships, a helping hand, and honor their life experiences, contributions, and teachings for the generations of today and tomorrow.

Ichishkín can seem quite complex. With the help of elders, we have come to understand an incredible amount about the inner workings, patterns, variations, and structures within.

We are tribal students and teachers sharing Ichishkín in its simplest forms and simplest explanations with no need for big foreign words and linguistic terminologies. Getting you understanding is revitalizing while getting you confused is intimidating.

Do we teach as much as we can or do we learn as much as we can? Sadly, when all the 1st language speakers are gone we may only have 1 choice.

Support our mission to share, advance, and revitalize Columbia River Ichishkín Language, Arts & Culture.
